PanARMENIAN.Net - Fox is developing Protocol Orphans, a drama series based on BOOM! Studios’ graphic novel co-created by actor Peter Facinelli. Amanda Segel (Person of Interest) will write the TV adaptation of Facinelli’s comic. 20th Century Fox TV and producing with Boom! Studios under the graphic novel publisher’s first-look deal with the studio, Deadline reports.

Protocol Orphans is about a foster family of orphans who are trained by the U.S. government as covert operatives, protecting their country during the day and battling each other at night.

Segel executive produces with BOOM! Founder and CEO Ross Richie, President of Development Stephen Christy and SVP Television Josh Levy. Facinelli, who co-created the graphic novel with Rob DeFranco, serves as producer.

BOOM!, which has the largest library of owned and controlled original comic book series outside of Marvel and DC Comics, developed with 20th TV a drama adaptation of its comic book series Unthinkable last season. Executive produced by Howard Gordon, the project landed a put pilot commitment at Fox.
