RA FM Welcomes Orhan Pamuk's Nobel PrizeOctober 16, 2006 - 14:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian welcomed awarding of Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk with Novel Prize. "We do welcome this decision that coincided with the adoption of the Armenian Genocide bill by the French parliament," Minister Oskanian told RA Public TV. In his words, the signal to Turkey has become more sonorous and this country cannot justify itself rating the decision of the French parliament as speculation targeted at prevention of Turkey's EU membership. "I hope that the decision of the French parliament and awarding of Pamuk with the Nobel Prize will point Turkey to the right way. Turkey should understand that Armenia has no intention to humiliate it but wishes to achieve the Armenian Genocide recognition and overcome this obstacle," the RA FM said, reported newsarmenia.ru.
