Armenia to assume CSTO chairmanship in 2016

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan will head to Tajikistan on Monday, September 14 to participate in the joint sessions of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers, Council of Defense Ministers and Committee of Secretaries of Security Councils.

According to presidential press service, the session will address implementation of resolutions on agenda of the December 2014 session in Moscow, as well as outline the CSTO projects for the next year, among other issues.

Armenia will preside over the Dushanbe-hosted CSTO session.

Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian will also be attending the session, during which Yerevan will assume chairmanship of the Organization for the next year, Foreign Ministry’s press service reports.

A delegation led by Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan will also be participating in the joint session.
