Rudimental drum and bass band claim 2nd UK No.1 album

PanARMENIAN.Net - Rudimental have shot straight to number one in the Official Charts with their second album We the Generation, Digital Spy reports.

It's also the second chart-topper of the Hackney collective's career after their debut offering Home hit the top spot back in 2013.

"This is mad! When I think back to some of the seminal bands I've always loved, they all had at least two major records," Rudimental's Amir Amor told Official Charts.

"I always dreamed of Rudimental having at least two major records - hopefully it will solidify to the world that we're serious contenders in the game. We're not going anywhere - we plan to stick around for a long time."

But guess who's back up to number two? Ed Sheeran's x climbs up to second position 16 months after it was first released in June 2014.

Jess Glynne trails at three with debut collection I Cry When I Laugh, Pink Floyd's David Gilmour is down to four with solo outing Rattle That Lock, and Editors are new at five with In Dream.

Elsewhere, Avicii edges into the Top 10 at nine with Stories, while Janet Jackson is just outside at 11 with comeback album Unbreakable

Further down, UK country duo The Shires re-enter the Top 40 with Brave at 16, while Irish duo Foster & Allen land at 30 with Celebration.
