Mozilla launches Firefox 42, Firefox 44 Developer Edition November 4, 2015 - 15:13 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Mozilla launched Tuesday, November 3, Firefox 42 for Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android. Notable additions to the browser include tracking protection, tab audio indicators, and background link opening on Android, VentureBeat reports. Firefox 42 for the desktop is available for download now on Firefox.com, and all existing users should be able to upgrade to it automatically. As always, the Android version is trickling out slowly on Google Play. Besides Firefox 42, Mozilla also launched Firefox 44 Developer Edition, adding visual editing and memory management tools. The release coincides with the one-year anniversary of what Mozilla calls “the first browser created specifically for developers,” according to VentureBeat. Firefox Developer Edition sits between the Nightly and Beta channels. Firefox development starts with Nightly, which consists of the latest Firefox code packaged up every night for bleeding-edge testers, is followed by Developer Edition, which includes everything that is labeled as “experimental,” then Beta, and then finally the release channel for the broader public.
