The Banker names Ameriabank Best Bank of the Year in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Banker’s sixteenth annual Bank of the Year awards were held Wednesday, December 2, with Ameriabank recognized as the best bank in Armenia.

The Bank of the Year Awards is an annual awards event recognising the top financial institutions in the world.

According to the organizers, in awarding Ameriabank a number of factors were considered, including the bank’s time-saving smart solutions. Also of great importance was Ameriabank's cooperation with the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO), resulting in a Subordinated Convertible Loan Agreement with the latter, the first ever such deal in Armenia's banking history.

“Ameriabank has bolstered its leading position on a number of key financial indicators,” the Bank’s general manager Artak Hanesyan said. “Ameriabank’s key to success is its customer-oriented policy: quality service, professional staff, innovations, balanced risk management. The agreement reached with CR2 on a new BankWorld omnichannel banking platform is of special importance, envisaging a whole new set of tools for remote banking services in 2016.”

Ameriabank was granted a certificate and a statuette of Brendan Bracken, the founding editor of The Banker and the chairman of the modern-day Financial Times from 1945 to 1958.
