235 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani army registered Dec 17-18![]() December 18, 2015 - 14:26 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani armed forces continuously violated the ceasefire on the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh on December 17-18. According to the Karabakh Defense Ministry, 235 ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani armed forces were registered in the reporting period, with over 5000 shots fired from various caliber artillery weapons, 60-, 82- and 120-mm mortars, AGM-9, AGS-17 and RPG-7 grenade launchers. Karabakh troops control the situation and retaliate in case of necessity. Following the unsuccessful attempts to cross the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh on December 17, special Azeri troops have once again initiated subversive attacks on four directions of Karabakh positions on December 18. Identifying the Azerbaijani groups on time, Karabakh Defense Army units took retaliatory measures, throwing the saboteurs back to their positions. Karabakh army soldiers Aghasi Grigoryan and Ruben Aleksanyan, both aged 19, were killed as a result. An investigation into the details of the incident is underway. The Karabakh Defense Army vowed to punish the rival’s provocations, with the repercussions to be strongly felt by the latter.
