Iran ready to mediate Nagorno Karabakh settlement: Deputy Minister

PanARMENIAN.Net - Iran is ready to mediate the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict if Armenia and Azerbaijan want it to, the Islamic Republic’s Deputy Foreign Minister said during a Tehran-hosted briefing on Monday, January 25, APA reports.

“From the early days of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Iran has always tried to prevent escalation and settle the conflict in a peaceful way,” Hossein Jaberi Ansari said.

“If you look into the past, you’ll see that Iran has in the most difficult times tried to resolve the crisis between Azerbaijan and Armenia.”

Iran has expressed interest in mediating the Karabakh conflict settlement in the past.
