Lady Gaga pays tribute to David Bowie at Grammy AwardsFebruary 16, 2016 - 11:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Lady Gaga remembered the late David Bowie with a sprawling tribute, performing a medley of his songs at Monday night’s Grammys, Variety reports. The singer donned Bowie-inspired makeup, bright red hair and an elaborate white outfit, and she moved through his hits, starting with “Space Oddity” as the camera panned in closely on her face, a lighting bolt projected on her face. The tribute to Bowie, who died early this year, was hardly somber: Gaga provided a colorful tribute, cranking through nine of Bowie’s most memorable tunes in less than six minutes: “Space Oddity,” “Changes,” “Ziggy Stardust,” “Suffragette City,” “Rebel, Rebel,” “Fashion,” “Fame,” “Let’s Dance,” “Heroes” and “Under Pressure.” Gaga stuck with Bowie’s older songs, the most recent being 1983’s “Let’s Dance.” At the end of the performance, a photo of Bowie appeared on the screen behind Gaga as she gave a spirited spin. Gaga has long cited Bowie has an inspiration. Ahead of her performance, the Golden Globe winner shared a video on her Instagram while prepping her makeup, shredding a single tear while listening to Bowie’s “Blackstar” off of his album of the same name. “The world loves you David,” she wrote in the caption. Gaga was nominated at the Grammys for best song written for visual media for her “Til It Happens to You” from “The Hunting Ground,” but lost to Common and John Legend’s “Glory” from “Selma.” Photo: Matt Sayles/Invision/AP Top stories The creative crew of the Public TV had chosen 13-year-old Malena as a participant of this year's contest.
