Oscar-nommed Djimon Hounsou joins “Wayward Pines” season 2

PanARMENIAN.Net - Djimon Hounsou has been cast in the second season of “Wayward Pines”, Fox announced Wednesday, February 17, according to Variety.

The Oscar-nominated “Blood Diamond” actor will play CJ Mitchum, an original resident of Wayward Pines and a historian for the town with extensive knowledge of its complex origins, and the one person who can provide a unique bridge between the current world of Wayward Pines and the previous world that humans inhabited.

Hounsou joins the previously announced Jason Patric, who is also a series regular in the upcoming season, which debuts this summer with 10 episodes.

Season two will pick up after the first season with the residents of Wayward Pines battling against the iron-fisted rule of the First Generation. As events unfold in Wayward Pines, the thoughtful and philosophical Mitchum (Hounsou), a former teacher, makes a decision that will affect the fate of Wayward Pines and every resident living there.

“Wayward Pines,” based on Blake Crouch’s best-selling series of books, hails from exec producer M. Night Shyamalan, who will exec producer season two with Crouch, Donald De Line, Ashwin Rajan and Mark Friedman. Showrunner Chad Hodge departed after last season.
