“GoT” needs10 seasons for George R.R. Martin to finish booksMarch 12, 2016 - 11:36 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Don't expect George R.R. Martin will finish "Game of Thrones" series with "A Dream of Spring" ahead of its HBO counterpart, unless the show run upwards of 10 seasons, AceShowbiz reports. A fan asked the "GoT" creator if the final book could perhaps beat HBO to the finish line. George replies, "If the show runs ten seasons, maybe." The author previously confirmed that he was unable to publish "The Winds of Winter" ahead of "Game of Thrones" season 6 premiere in April. He also acknowledged that the HBO series would almost surely conclude before the seventh novel. While the HBO series could in fact run for 10 seasons, it's more likely that the show will conclude after Season 8. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss previously expressed their interest in ending the series with the seventh season. However, recent reports suggested negotiations for seventh and eighth seasons were indeed underway, AceShowbiz said. In his Not a Blog, George confirmed that HBO would not be sending out press screeners this year. "After last year's unfortunate leak, HBO is not sending out any press screeners this year, to try and cut down on the piracy," he wrote, "They have also eliminated all the regional premieres, including (sob) the one we had scheduled at my own Jean Cocteau Cinema." "This year the only premiere will be the big one in LA at Grauman's Chinese," he added, "The Jean Cocteau will, however, go ahead with our season 5 marathon.
