Moscow denounces Azeri accusations of dragging out Karabakh conflict

PanARMENIAN.Net - Moscow cannot accept Azerbaijani President Ilkham Aliyev’s accusations, suggesting that some of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs were "contributing to the freezing of the conflict with their destructive activities," a spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry said, according to TASS.

Maria Zakharova made the remarks on Thursday, March 24, referring to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

"We cannot accept the remarks as directed to us, as we have proved ourselves a longstanding and constructive participant in the process of negotiations," the spokeswoman said of the Minsk Group, co-chaired by Russia, France and the United States.

According to Zakharova, Russia wants “to have the conflict finally removed from the agenda," solving the issue on the basis of international law, equality and respect for all sides.
