Russia seeks to change gas, diamonds agreement with Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Russian government has decided to submit for ratification to the State Duma a change in the agreement between Russia and Armenia on cooperation in the field of natural gas, petroleum products and natural rough diamond, a statement on the cabinet’s website reads.

The amendment stipulates that the regulation of natural rough diamonds will be excluded from the agreement in connection with Armenia's accession to the treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union.

Also attached is a list of petroleum products supplied from Russia to Armenia with no export duties.

Armenia and Russia currently negotiate on the possible reduction of imported gas price.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is scheduled to visit Yerevan on April 7 and is expected to announce new gas tariffs .
