Kremlin says no meeting planed between Armenian, Azeri leaders

PanARMENIAN.Net - Moscow is seriously concerned about the situation in Nagorno Karabakh, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday, April 4, local media report.

"Russia continues making major efforts for the parties to return to a ceasefire," Peskov told reporters.

The official refrained from commenting on Turkey’s possible role in the Karabakh conflict.

Asked whether he agreed with Russian senators and lawmakers in the fact that Turkey is “rocking the boat” around the conflict, Peskov replied, “This is a very delicate issue.”

The spokesman also noted that Kremlin is unaware of any upcoming meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders. “There is no such jointly coordinated event,” he said.

On the night of April 1-2, Azerbaijani armed forces initiated overt offensive operations in the southern, southeastern and northeastern directions of the line of contact with Nagorno Karabakh.
