“Outlander” season 2 to premiere earlier on Starz's new streaming app

PanARMENIAN.Net - Those who can't wait until April 9 to watch the season 2 premiere of "Outlander" on Starz may want to subscribe to the network's newly launched streaming application. The first episode of the time-traveling series' new season will be made available on the standalone subscription streaming app on April 7, two days before its scheduled premiere on the cable channel, AceShowbiz said.

With $8.99 per month, subscribers can access more than 2,400 selections a month, including Starz's series and movies from Disney and Sony. The app allows up to four users to watch simultaneously and allows subscribers to download episodes onto applicable devices. It's the first premium cable channel app that offers downloading capability.

Existing Starz subscribers can authenticate and view Starz programming through the app as well. The app is available for download on Apple's app store for Apple devices and Google's play store for Android devices.

In other news, star Caitriona Balfe has previewed this season's villain. "Quite quickly, we meet Comte St. Germain (Stanley Weber) who, again, Claire gets herself into trouble by speaking before she thinks," Balfe tells E! News. "He's a very dark character and possibly much more dangerous than we first see."

He's not the only villain that Claire and Jamie (Sam Heughan) will encounter this season as Balfe adds, "And then there may be some people who we've met before who may be around, so we'll see."
