Operative situation unchanged on Karabakh-Azerbaijan contact line

PanARMENIAN.Net - The operative situation was unchanged on the contact line between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan on the night of April 18-19.

80 ceasefire violations were registered, with Azerbaijan shooting from various caliber firearms and an AGS-17 grenade launcher.

The Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army units mainly stayed committed to the ceasefire agreement and took necessary steps to continue controlling the situation on the contact line.

50 ceasefire violations by the rival were registered on the night of April 17-18, as Azerbaijan shot from 82-mm mortars and various caliber firearms along the line of contact.

As a result of Azeri violations, two Karabakh servicemen, Erik Matevosyan and Azat Barsamyan were wounded.

In addition to ceasefire breaches, a 20-member Azerbaijani squad initiated a subversive attack in the eastern (Akna) direction of the contact line.

Having timely identified the rival troops, Karabakh forces thwarted the attack and threw the saboteurs back to their positions.
