PanARMENIAN.Net - "Thor: Ragnarok" officially kicked off the production July 4 at Village Roadshow Studios in Oxenford, Gold Coast, Queensland, in Australia. Serving behind the lens is Taika Waititi, who is known for his works on HBO's series "Flight of the Conchords" and mockumentary "What We Do in the Shadows", AceShowbiz reports.

Marvel co-president Louis D'Esposito took to Twitter to wish the crew and the cast good luck. He wrote, "Best of luck to @TaikaWaititi and the whole cast and crew of #ThorRagnarok. July 4 they started filming. Australia is in the future."

"Ant-Man" director Peyton Reed also sent his well wishes to Waititi, who jokingly replied with a picture of empty crew chairs. He wrote in the caption, "Pretty sweet 1st day. Look at all those people who turned up to work."
