Armenia says stability in Turkey important for whole region![]() July 16, 2016 - 15:56 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday, July 16 called for stability in Turkey following a coup attempt that left hundreds dead and over a thousand others wounded. An attempted military coup has apparently been defeated in Turkey, in a bid to oust the president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, accusing him of undermining the country’s secular traditions. “Stability based on democracy, respect for human rights and basic freedoms are important for the whole region,” Armenia’s Foreign Ministry said in a Facebook post. “We continue to actively follow developments in Turkey.” ![]() ![]() The foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ararat Mirzoyan and Jeyhun Bayramov, have arrived in Washington. The CSTO budget for the current year requires adjustments due to the refusal of Yerevan to pay their share of contributions. Six total incidents have burned 19 old-growth trees.
