Armenia says stability in Turkey important for whole region

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Foreign Ministry on Saturday, July 16 called for stability in Turkey following a coup attempt that left hundreds dead and over a thousand others wounded.

An attempted military coup has apparently been defeated in Turkey, in a bid to oust the president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, accusing him of undermining the country’s secular traditions.

“Stability based on democracy, respect for human rights and basic freedoms are important for the whole region,” Armenia’s Foreign Ministry said in a Facebook post.

“We continue to actively follow developments in Turkey.”
