Georgia finds IS traces in attempted gas pipeline explosion

PanARMENIAN.Net - The lawyer of one of the suspects who were planning to blow up the Russia-Armenia gas pipeline in Georgia, told journalists that case materials include a photo of her client with an Islamic State flag in the background.

Of the five suspects, only Beka Bekauri, who is currently hospitalized, admits guilt. According to the Security Service, Bekauri was wounded during his detention, his relatives, however, don’t believe in what has happened.

“Case materials indicate that they may be supporters of Wahhabism, but Bekauri denies this allegation,” lawyer Maya Chrelashvili said.

“We have pictures from Facebook, where Bekauri and others are standing against the background of different flags, including that of the Islamic State.”
