“Jackie,” “La La Land,” “Arrival” to screen at Savannah Film FestOctober 1, 2016 - 12:51 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A collection of awards season contenders including “Jackie”, “La La Land”, “Arrival” and “Manchester By the Sea” will screen at the Savannah Film Festival. The 19th edition of the Georgia festival takes place Oct. 22-29, Variety said. Natalie Portman starrer “Jackie” opens the fest, while Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling starrer “La La Land” is set as a Spotlight Gala screening. “Arrival,” starring Amy Adams, is the Centerpiece Gala Screening. Other Gala screenings will include “20th Century Women,” “American Pastoral,” “Bleed for This,” “Christine,” “Lion,” “Loving,” “Moonlight,” and “Trolls.” Selections from the Signature series will include Cannes Palme d’Or winner “I, Daniel Blake” and Jim Jarmusch’s “Paterson.” The Docs to Watch series will return with ten of the year’s top documentaries, including Q&As with the filmmakers. Films will include “The Ivory Game,” “Life, Animated,” “OJ: Made in America,” and “Weiner.” Sponsored by the Savannah College of Art and Design, the festival gives students a chance to meet leaders in the entertainment industry with coffee talks and panel discussions.
