  Magnitude 2.3 quake registered on Armenia-Turkey border October 12, 2016 - 11:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A magnitude 2.3 earthquake was registered near the border between Armenia and Turkey on Tuesday, October 11 evening, at 10:58 am (GMT 6:58 pm). According to the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the tremor had a depth of 10 kilometers and was felt in the village nearby. Armenia has historically been prone to earthquakes. The last devastating earthquake in 1988 rocked Spitak, killing 25,000 people and injuring 19,000, severely damaging 517,000 homes and causing an estimated economic loss of$ 15-20 billion in northern parts of the country.
