“Sing” animated comedy trailer features Scarlett Johansson’s voice

PanARMENIAN.Net - A new trailer for "Sing" has been released by Illumination for fans' viewing pleasure, AceShowbiz said. Set to the backdrop of Eminem's "Sing for the Moment", the trailer highlights the talented animals, which include a pig, gorilla, porcupine and elephant, trying to pursue their dreams as they struggle from fear, betrayal and expectations.

One scene shows Ash the punk-rock porcupine, whose voice is provided by Scarlett Johansson, discovering that her boyfriend is cheating on her. She kicks him out of her house before she auditions for a singing competition held by a koala named Buster Moon (Matthew McConaughey). "You know what's great about hitting rock bottom? There is only one way left to go," he says. "And that's up."

"Sing" follows Buster who tries to produce the world's greatest singing competition. The five lead contestants include a mouse (Seth MacFarlane), who croons as smoothly as he cons, a timid teenage elephant (Tori Kelly), who has an enormous case of stage fright, a mother (Reese Witherspoon) with 25 piglets, a young gangster gorilla (Taron Egerton) looking to break free of his family's felonies, and a punk-rock porcupine (Johansson), who struggles to shed her arrogant boyfriend and go solo.

Written and directed by Garth Jennings, who's worked on music videos for the likes of Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, Beck and Blur, the animated comedy flick is set for a December 21 release in U.S. theaters.
