Arcade Fire confirmed as Isle of Wight Festival headliners

PanARMENIAN.Net - Arcade Fire have announced their only UK festival appearance of 2017, confirmed as headliners for next year’s Isle of Wight Festival, NME said.

The Isle of Wight Festival takes place next year from June 8-11 at Seaclose Park, Newport. Win Butler and co will headline the Saturday night of the festival.

Festival promoter, John Giddings, says of the news: “I’m so happy to have secured Arcade Fire as our first headliner. David Bowie recommended them and I’ve been a fan ever since. Last year was an incredible year and I’m ready for us to come back even better in 2017.”

Early bird tickets went on sale at 9am this morning (November 7) at the festival website. This year’s Isle of Wight Festival was headlined by The Who and Queen + Adam Lambert.

Meanwhile, Arcade Fire recorded their audience singing a melody from a new song during their headline show at the New Orleans festival Voodoo Music + Arts Experience last week (October 30).

Butler asked the audience “if they’d like to be on a record.” Met with cheers, he then asked them to repeat a melody, with the intention of it being used in the final recording of a forthcoming new song.

The Montreal-based band played their first headline show in over three months with their slot at the Louisiana festival.
