"This is yet another example of disinformation by the Azerbaijani side, the reports are completely untrue," Senor Hasratyan said Tuesday, November 15. Earlier, Azeri news agencies spread the information that their own armed forces destroyed an Armenian drone Monday near Tartar district. Over 75 ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani army were registered along the contact line with Nagorno Karabakh overnight on November 14-15. Azeri troops, in particular, used various caliber firearms to fire some 1300 shots towards the Armenian positions. Also, they employed 60- and 82-mm mortars and underbarrel grenade launchers in the north of the contact line. The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan The conflict between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan broke out as result of the ethnic cleansing launched by the Azeri authorities in the final years of the Soviet Union. The Karabakh War was fought from 1991 (when the Nagorno Karabakh Republic was proclaimed) to 1994 (when a ceasefire was sealed by Armenia, NKR and Azerbaijan). Most of Nagorno Karabakh and a security zone consisting of 7 regions are now under control of NKR defense army. Armenia and Azerbaijan are holding peace talks mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group up till now.
