Number of revealed corruption cases in Armenia down in 2016

PanARMENIAN.Net - The number of revealed corruption cases decreased in 2016 against the previous year, Armenia’s National Statistical Service said.

71 cases of receiving or offering bribes, or mediating a bribery deal have been officially registered last year, down from 2015’s 97 cases.

Also, cases of abuse of power or official misconduct decreased in the reporting period, dropping to 136 from 168 a year before.

Meanwhile, crimes against state authorities, service and administrative order have become more than twice as common, surging from 2015’s 1,076 to 2,527 a year later.
