Turkey installs surveillance cameras on border with Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Turkey has installed surveillance cameras on its border with Armenia, a report on Anadolu Agency revealed.

According to the source, the cameras were installed by the local government of Turkey's Kars region to constantly monitor the border line.

"The project worth 2,88 million lira is aimed at controlling the border line in Kars and will prevent certain negative moments and provide even greater security," - the report said.

The border has been shut since 1993, when Ankara reacted to the war in Nagarno Karabakh and closed its border with Armenia out of support for Azerbaijan.
