MP: Armenian peacekeepers left Afghanistan in March

PanARMENIAN.Net - There are currently no Armenian peacekeepers in Afghanistan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security Andranik Kocharyan told lawmakers on Tuesday, August 17.

His remarks came in response to a question from opposition MP Gegham Manukyan on the matter, as the Taliban are taking charge of Kabul and the rest of the country.

Kocharyan said the Armenian peacekeeping contingent left Afghanistan in early March.

Armenian servicemen first arrived in Afghanistan in February 2010, where they carried out a mission jointly with the German Bundeswehr.
