"Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Prime Minister [of Armenia] Nikol Vovaevich Pashinyan have already held three personal meetings this year, 14 telephone conversations. A new personal meeting is being arranged for the near future," Matvienko said, according to TASS. She noted the importance of such intensive contacts. "They set the tone for the entire range of Russian-Armenian relations, economic and humanitarian, and in the field of healthcare, education, culture, political issues," Matvienko said. Earlier on Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed with Simonyan the post-conflict settlement in Karabakh and the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group. At the meeting, the Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly expressed gratitude to the Russian leadership for mediating efforts to resolve the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
