Russian-Armenian University hosted presentation of "Yakov Zarobyan and His Epoch" book

PanARMENIAN.Net - "Yakov Zarobyan's life and activity give full understanding on right methods to rule a country," President of Russian Armenian University (RAU) Armen Darbinyan said during the presentation.

The ceremony was attended by Yakov Zaroubyan's former colleagues Sergey Hambardzumyan, Lyudvig Gharibjanyan and many others.

"Nationalist with international mentality," this is how the Soviet Armenian official was characterized. On the 50th anniversary of Armenian Genocide, Mr. Zaroubyan had the brevity and determination to resist the communist regime's attempts of sending armed forces to control the crowd," Academician Sergey Hambardzumyan emphasized.

In his book, Yakov Zarobyan's son described the activities of First Secretary of Armenian Communist Party (1960-66).

The book contains recollections and 140 documents. The presentation was followed by a concert.

Thanks to Yakov Zarobyan (1908-80), a solution to Sevan problem was found, ERNIMM Scientific-Research Institute of Mathematical Machines was established, and a number of issues referring to the Armenian Genocide and its 50th anniversary were addressed.
