Putin, Тrump may discuss control over “Zangezur corridor”

PanARMENIAN.Net - Viktor Vodolatsky, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration, and Relations with Compatriots, stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump may discuss control over the so-called “Zangezur Corridor,” a transport route between Armenian and Azerbaijani territories, during their upcoming meeting in Alaska.

“The issue of controlling the Zangezur Corridor will be among the topics discussed at the bilateral meeting between the Russian and U.S. presidents,” he said, as reported by TASS.

In Washington, the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the U.S.—Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, and Donald Trump—officially reached an agreement to launch the “Trump Route.”

Putin and Trump are scheduled to meet in Alaska on August 15.

“The route will allow Azerbaijan to reach Nakhchivan while fully respecting Armenia’s sovereignty. Armenia is also forming an exclusive partnership with the U.S. to develop this corridor, with its duration possibly extended up to 99 years—with a promise of further extension for another 99 years. We expect significant infrastructure development. American companies are eager to enter these countries and invest heavily, which will bring economic benefits to all three nations,” said Trump.
