Ruben Vardanyan invested $236 mln in Dilijan, Arakelyan says![]() October 30, 2025 - 15:17 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Mesrop Arakelyan, co-founder of the Country to Live party, wrote on Facebook that Ruben Vardanyan’s investments in the town of Dilijan have exceeded the city’s cumulative budget over the past 34 years. “Ruben Vardanyan, along with his family and partners, has invested $236 million in Dilijan, more than the town’s total municipal budget from 1991 to 2025,” he stated. According to Arakelyan, $136 million of that was allocated specifically for the construction and equipping of the United World College Dilijan. One of the key projects is the reconstruction and development of the Central Park, launched in 2016 with an investment of $4 million. The second phase of Dilijan’s infrastructure development is expected to be implemented by 2029. Since 2023, Ruben Vardanyan has been held in an Azerbaijani prison on politically motivated charges. He is being tried separately and faces a potential life sentence based on the totality of the charges filed against him. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
