First robotic surgery performed in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia has performed its first-ever robotic surgery, according to Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) Rector Armen Muradyan.

“Robotic surgery has become a reality in our country. For the first time, robotic procedures were performed at the Slavmed Medical Center,” Muradyan said.

He expressed pride that the debut procedure was a urological surgery — a robotic kidney resection — which was successfully completed.

The operation was performed by urologist Mher Mkhitaryan.
