Over 2 million tourists visited Armenia in 2025![]() January 8, 2026 - 15:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Several months in 2025—May, June, July, August, October, November, and December—set new records for the number of tourist visits to Armenia, according to Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, who spoke during a government session. “In 2025, Armenia received 2,263,642 tourists, which is a 2.5% increase compared to the previous year and 19.4% more than in 2019,” the minister detailed, as reported by Armenpress. In December 2025 alone, 139,933 tourists visited the country. Papoyan noted that Armenia’s highest-ever tourism numbers were registered in 2023, when about 50,000 more visitors were recorded compared to 2025. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
