Georgia closes key road to Armenia due to weather![]() January 21, 2026 - 12:21 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Georgia’s Department of Motor Roads has announced that traffic is currently suspended for all vehicles at the Paravani Pass—a road segment that connects to Armenia. According to the department’s published update, the restriction applies to the 94–110 km section of the Koda–Partskisi–Manglisi–Tsalka–Ninotsminda road due to a blizzard and limited visibility. It was also noted that the road to the Upper Lars border crossing is closed as well due to similar severe weather conditions. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Stephan Schütz, Executive Partner at Gerkan, Marg and Partners.
