Armenia and Latvia have discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in tourism, ahead of the launch of direct flights between Yerevan and Riga.

Chair of the Tourism Committee Lusine Gevorgyan and Latvia’s Ambassador to Armenia Edite Medne discussed opportunities for Armenia-Latvia cooperation in the tourism sector, including organizing relevant events in anticipation of upcoming flights.

The sides welcomed the launch of direct Yerevan-Riga-Yerevan flights by Air Baltic starting May 2, emphasizing their importance for boosting bilateral tourist flows, developing relations and promoting intercultural dialogue.

Latvia’s Honorary Consul in Armenia, Armen Ghasaboghlyan, also took part in the meeting.
