Mandatory digital labor contracts delayed to 2027

PanARMENIAN.Net - The requirement to conclude, amend, and terminate employment contracts exclusively through a digital system has been postponed until July 1, 2027. President Vahagn Khachaturyan has signed the package of laws introducing amendments and additions to the Labor Code.

Until July 1, 2027, the use of the digital system for concluding contracts will remain voluntary. At the same time, contracts, agreements and orders concluded through the system will have full legal force, 1lurer.am reports.

A transitional provision has also been established, under which the extended deadlines will apply to labor relations arising after January 1, 2026.

The mandatory deadline for entering existing employment contracts into the digital system, previously set for December 31, 2026, has also been extended to June 30, 2028.

It has further been stipulated that employment relations with a person located outside Armenia, when the work is to be performed outside the country, will not be processed through the digital system.

Separate regulations have been introduced for foreigners, refugees and asylum seekers residing in Armenia. Under these provisions, even after July 1, 2027, employment contracts will continue to be concluded in paper form, provided that within three months of obtaining a document confirming legal residence in Armenia, the contracts are entered into the digital system in accordance with the established procedure.

Previously, the requirement had been scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026.
