Bank cards for pensions to be delivered by April 1

PanARMENIAN.Net - From April 1, pensioners in Armenia will receive their pensions exclusively through non-cash payments, and those without bank cards will have them delivered by that date.

To ensure an effective transition from cash to non-cash payments, the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs has drafted a decision presented at the government session by Minister Arsen Torosyan.

According to 1lurer.am , about 15,000 pensioners have not yet switched to the non-cash system.

“We plan to use courier delivery either through courier services or bank employees, as well as a mechanism to confirm delivery in the presence of representatives of the Social Service. There are citizens who are unable to fully participate in the process. Everything is clearly outlined. Certain regulations allow pensioners receiving payments by power of attorney to continue doing so, so that no one is deprived of the right to receive their pension on April 1,” he said.

The minister also noted that the process of changing the payment method is ongoing.

“When we first spoke about launching this process in December, we had 50,000 citizens who had not switched. Over the past two to three months, the rest have independently transitioned, with support from our Social Service or by submitting applications in person or online. We aim to complete this for as many as possible, because starting March 5 the allocation will be automatic. Citizens will automatically be distributed among the banks that have agreed to participate in the process,” he explained.

Torosyan emphasized that since pensions had already been distributed in advance, those who have switched to non-cash payments have also received their recalculated pensions in the new amounts.
