Taxi drivers offered pension options in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia’s Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan said the government has developed approaches to address pension issues for taxi drivers.

In a Facebook post, he outlined the proposed solutions discussed during recent meetings with drivers.

  • For those born before 1974, work experience will be calculated for all months in which the paid tax exceeds the income tax derived from the minimum wage.
  • For those born after 1974, there will be an option to voluntarily join the funded pension system, with state participation.

According to the minister, the relevant legislative initiatives are currently being developed.

Earlier, it was reported that taxi drivers working through electronic platforms in Armenia will be included in the health insurance system starting January 1, 2027, following amendments adopted by the National Assembly.
