Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at the newly built Paruyr Sevak educational complex, addressed the importance of fulfilling tax obligations in the context of state development.
He emphasized that the tax system is sometimes demonized for political purposes, Auroranews.am reports.
“Those who demonize the tax system, who say this person should not pay taxes, that one should not pay, the third, the fourth, the fifth, the sixth—what are they actually saying? They are saying there should be no schools, no roads, no salaries, no teachers earning 500,000, 700,000 or 300,000 drams in Armenia, no 16 million program, and so on,” Pashinyan stated.
He also shared impressions from attending the opening of a kindergarten in a village. He said he urged residents to always request receipts when making purchases and to pay taxes without reluctance when conducting business, keeping in mind the educational institutions that are being created.
According to Pashinyan, an individual’s well-being depends primarily not on personal spending, but on the funds allocated from state and community budgets toward their welfare.
The prime minister added that no matter how wealthy a person is, parents cannot build a separate school or kindergarten for their children, just as it is impossible to construct a private road to one’s home using only personal resources.
