According to the Armenian prime minister's office, the two leaders discussed items on the Armenia-Russia cooperation agenda, focusing on trade and economic relations, scientific and technological cooperation, as well as cultural and humanitarian issues. The Russian government said the phone call took place at the initiative of the Armenian side. "Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin held a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. The heads of government discussed current issues of Russian-Armenian cooperation in the trade, economic, scientific, technological, cultural and humanitarian spheres," the Russian statement said. Russia has imposed restrictions on imports of several Armenian products. These include Jermuk mineral water, flowers, certain alcoholic beverages, and a number of agricultural goods such as tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries. Since June 2, Russia has also restricted imports and transit to other Eurasian Economic Union member states of cherries, apricots, peaches, plums, grapes and other stone fruits from Armenia. Since June 3, restrictions have also applied to eggplants, potatoes and dried fruits originating from Armenia. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
