2.4-magnitude earthquake strikes north of Ijevan

PanARMENIAN.Net - A magnitude 2.4 earthquake was recorded 14 kilometers north of Ijevan and was felt in nearby communities.

On July 2 at 7:05 p.m. local time (3:05 p.m. GMT), Armenia's Seismic Protection Territorial Service recorded a magnitude 2.4 earthquake 14 kilometers north of Ijevan. The earthquake's hypocenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The shaking reached an intensity of 3 points in the epicentral area.

The tremor was felt with an intensity of 2-3 points in Ijevan and the villages of Achajur, Khashtarak, and Sevkar in Tavush Province.

The earthquake was recorded at geographic coordinates 41.00° north latitude and 45.16° east longitude.
