On September 8-15 Krzysztof Zanussi will conduct master classes for future RA cinematographersSeptember 8, 2009 - 20:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - On September 8-15, Yerevan will host master classes of Golden Apricot Cinema Masterschool, conducted by famous Polish filmmaker Krzysztof Zanussi ."Krzysztof Zanussi is a philosopher of polish cinema, one of those who formed and developed European mentality in his pictures. He was the one who helped Sergey Parajanov's "The Color of Pomegranate" enter European cinematography scene," RA Deputy Minister of Culture David Muradyan told a news conference today. "I'm sure it will be very interesting to meet with Armenian youth. We'll be improvising a lot during master classes, shooting movies take by take, and following them by discussions," Krzysztof Zanussi stated. The year 2009 was announced Polish cinema year in Armenia. On August 1, Golden Apricot Cinema Masterschool announced students' reception for 2009-2010 academic year. 85 applications were received from Armenia, Georgia, Turkey, Iran, Russia, Romania and Moldova. Golden Apricot Cinema Masterschool was founded by Golden Apricot international film festival in 2008. The first master class was conducted by Canadian filmmaker of Armenian heritage Atom Egoyan. The program is sponsored by Viva Cell -MTS, with the assistance of RA Ministry of Culture.
