Armenian women live 7 years longer than men

Average life expectancy in Armenia is age 74, which is a good factor. On the average, Armenian women live 7 years longer than men: with age 77 and 70 life expectancies respectively, Deputy Healthcare Minister Tatul Hakobyan said.



As he pointed out at Friday’s news conference, life expectancy estimates are age 74 for Azerbaijan, age 73 –Georgia, age 72 -Turkey and age 80 –Europe.



The Deputy Minister named cardiovascular diseases as the main cause of death in RA. Among leading causes are: oncological diseases, road accidents and poisonings.



In conclusion, Tatul Hakobyan emphasized the importance of oncological diseases prophylaxis and spoke of planned opening of nuclear medicine center in Yerevan.
