2010 World Expo in Shanghai to kick off Apr. 30 eveningApril 30, 2010 - 11:12 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The opening ceremony of the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai will kick off at the Expo Park on Friday night. 192 countries and 50 international organizations will take part in the Shanghai Expo, which features 189 National Pavilion Days and 39 International Organization Days as well as 20,000 cultural performances. The six-month event is expected to attract over 70 million visitors, of which 3.5 million are from abroad. It will also be attended by leaders from more than 100 countries, xinhuanet.com reports. Armenia’s pavilion will feature the City of the Future, a model of a new city to live in. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
