Armenian Ministry of Culture aims to turn Lori fortress into popular tourist center

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Ministry of Culture is aiming to turn 11th century Lori fortress into popular tourist center, expedition manager Igit Gharibyan stated.

“In 2009, the Ministry of Culture allocated AMD 9 million to restoration works currently in progress,” Gharibyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

“Lori fortress is a unique specimen of Armenian medieval construction,” Gharibyan stated, expressing hope for tourist inflow increase, further promoting economy in Lori region.
