Nikolai Bordyuzha reminds of CSTO member states’ obligations towards ArmeniaMay 19, 2011 - 16:58 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha said that Armenia is an active participant of CSTO. Asked how CSTO will behave in case of possible escalation in the region, Bordyuzha said in Yerevan: “Armenia, as a member of CSTO, has shouldered certain obligations, but the other members of CSTO also have obligations towards Armenia.” He added that the Armenian and Russian Presidents do their utmost “to solve this complicate problem peacefully and reach an agreement with all the states involved in the Karabakh conflict. “I would refrain from making hasty statements, knowing that it will only harm the settlement process,” concluded Bordyuzha. Commenting on recent incidents at the line of contact between the NKR and Azerbaijani armed forces, Bordyuzha said he is aware of them and discussed the matter in Yerevan. “In my opinion, a peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict has no alternative. Regular violations of ceasefire may provoke a conflict that is highly undesirable.” Top stories The Cabinet of Ministers decided on Thursday, November 9 to allocated AMD 120 million to arrange the gathering.
