HSBC Bank Armenia to introduce first Drive Through ATMs

PanARMENIAN.Net - HSBC Armenia signed an agreement with Arax LTD to install Drive Through ATMs at the Arax petrol and technical service station on 20A Myasnikyan Street.

An agreement to install another drive-through ATM on Ashtarak Highway, near the entrance of the Vahakni Residential Community was acquired with Hovnanian International LTD. The new drive-through ATM service is expected to be operational and ready to serve customers in Q3 of 2011.

The new Drive Through ATM is another self-service banking solution, a stand alone unit that offers the same range of banking services normally available through usual ATMs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The new device will provide maximum convenience, saving both time and effort, as customers will be able to obtain cash without leaving their cars and without having to think about finding a parking space, the Bank's press service reported.

"This is in line with the bank's strategy to continuously introduce innovative technologies to improve customer experience. We will now be installing ATMs on the two main highways taking out of Yerevan and may extend this in the future if the service is popular among the customers," said Astrid Clifford, Chief Executive Officer HSBC Bank Armenia CJSC.

HSBC was the first bank to introduce self service machines in Armenia in 1996 and the first bank to install an off-site ATM located on the crossroad of Baghramyan Avenue and Moskovyan Street to date. Currently, the bank has one of the largest networks of more than 50 ATMs in Yerevan.
