Most important task to avoid armed conflict in Karabakh – ambassador

PanARMENIAN.Net - The fact that the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are holding talks to settle the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is welcome, Lithuania’s ambassador to Armenia said.

“The most important task is to avoid armed conflict,” Giedrius Apuokas told a news conference Yerevan. “During their previous meeting the Presidents of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan reached some agreement and there is now hope to register progress on fundamental issues.”

“And even if they fail, the Russian President’s initiative is praiseworthy,” the ambassador said.
