Armenian PM hands over party cards to young RPA members

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan handed party cards to 250 newly-affiliated young members of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

The handover ceremony took place at the tomb of RPA ideologist, Armenian statesman Garegin Njdeh, located in Holy Godmother churchyard of Vayots Dzor province. The event was organized by the Youth Foundation of Armenia.

As Mr. Sargsyan told reporters upon completion of the ceremony, the choice of the location was symbolic. “The long trip over the mountains to the tomb of the great military man was meant as a pilgrimage,” the Minister said.

Garegin Njdeh (1 January 1886, Nakhijevan – 21 December 1955, Vladimir, Soviet Union) was an Armenian statesman, fedayee, political thinker, and, as a member of the ARF Dashnaktsutyun party, was involved in revolutionary activities in Armenia, Bulgaria and Russia.
